Food and booze, the best of friends.

Or nom and nom nom nom, as we like to call them.

With Best Friends Day right around the corner this weekend, we hope you have plans to make some mischief with your biffles. Whether you’re hosting pals at your place, or just sitting next to each other staring into the abyss, we’ve got the pairings for you.

How to host a fantastic friends day

Make sure to stock up on snacks. If your friends are anything like ours, they overstay their invites in the best ways. A cheeky drink at 4pm turns into a late night gigglefest after the kids have been abandoned with their fathers. Here’s how to host:

Round 1 - the classy entry point. Pair cambozola (creamy textured cheese with blue-veined characteristics - you fancy 💅) with Lini Lambrusco Rosso to show everyone you’re an adult.

Round 2 - ok but we need real food now. Pair pepperoni and sausage pizza with New Belgium 1554 Dark Ale or Pazzia Primitivo from Puglia. How convenient that you already have those drinks in the house! Who knew you’d be on the phone with Domino’s at this point in the day.

Round 3 - tried and true. Stock up on Lays Classics, fancy nut mix, maybe some twizzlers, and other dry goods for when you just wanna munch. Pair those with Chandon California Rose Sparkling Wine.

Under no circumstances serve tequila. This will result in your entire party ending up at private-room karaoke belting Bonnie Raitt. Or… on second thought, do have a bottle of Don Julio on hand.

We had a great time at Web Summit in Vancouver this past week. We loved the inspiring talks, running into old friends, and surprisingly, sweating our asses off.

We’re hoping to find more photos of Caty’s resting bitch face on the internet from her time at Frontier Collective’s Vancity House.

Cheers!
